What is CWAH?

CWAH is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization. Our mission is to provide evidence-based programs and services to enable low- to moderate-income families struggling with poverty to become more self-sufficient.

How long has CWAH been around?

CWAH has been empowering and serving the community since 1988.

Where are you located?

CWAH is located at 3963 West Belle Place, which is located between N. Vandeventer Ave. and Sarah Ave. (North and Southbound) and in between Enright Ave. and Windsor Pl. (West & Eastbound).

When are you open?

We are open Monday to Thursday 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Closed on Fridays. Open on Saturday for scheduled classes.

What programs do you offer?

We offer various educational and developmental programs and workshops to parents living in the city of St. Louis. Classes are free. CWAH also offers various educational and developmental classes to youth (5th to 12th grade). CWAH also offers various workshops throughout the year to families. What services do you offer?

We offer low- to moderate-income families a scheduled visit to our food pantry, clothing boutique, or warehouse for household items (based on eligibility). To learn about the referral process, please visit the Services page for more information.

How do I become eligible to receive services?

To become eligible to receive services you must consistently attend and participate in the programs/workshops offered at the CWAH Family Support Center.

Do you pick up donations?

No, we do not pick up small items and clothing. However, we do pick up large pieces of furniture and appliances. (Must submit a picture to (communitywomenstl@yahoo.com.)

How can I donate clothing to your organization?

Please call first. If you have clothing that is new or gently used and in good condition (Must Be Cleaned) to donate, please call CWAH first to set up a time to assess the clothing. We accept women's clothing, children's clothing, and clothing for teenagers (both girls & boys). *** Due to COVID-19 we may not take certain items.*** 

How do I donate furniture or large appliances?

You are required to send a picture of the item. You must call CWAH first to have your donated items picked up by CWAH volunteers. Your location and items to be donated will determine if CWAH can do a pick-up. If you wish to drop them off yourself, you still must call CWAH first to schedule a day and time.
